Shana Gray’s latest release Stormy Affair is here!
I virtually sat her down for a fast five questions about it.
1. What are six words you would use to describe this book?
hot – tropical – passionate – stormy – discovery – acceptance
2. What was your favourite chapter to write?
I loved writing the drive in the beginning.
3. Why was it your favourite chapter to write?
I was in St Lucia many years ago and used that as a reference for the tree toads and fireflies. The road and taxi were exactly as described. I was also on the road to Hana and touched on that for those readers that may have driven it. Also, naming the hotel Seashell Cove was from another trip I was on in Fiji where my ex-husband and I stayed – I will say this – it did NOT live up to its name and I refused to stay there more than the one night.
4. In the literal sense, this book is a beach read. Where is your favourite beach?
Goodness! How do I pick my favourite beach when I’ve been lucky to have sunk my toes into so many around the world?
5. If you were going to take a spontaneous flight like Lara does south, where would you go?
I’m not picky. I’ve always wanted to do what Lara did….just take the first destination flight outa here!
Thanks Shana!
Now here are a few teasers to hook you!

Lara gazed out the open taxi window. It was difficult to process that only hours ago, she’d hopped on the first plane heading south with only a carry-on. If that didn’t scream desperation, she didn’t know what would. Yep, she was running. And now…here she was, bouncing over a less than stellar road with sweet tropical air rushing in the window.

Lara gathered the strawberry curls into a bundle, wound it around and did her best to knot it on top of her head. She imagined she could give Romancing the Stone’s Joan Wilder a run for her money in the disheveled department. Only she was in a car and not riding down a mudslide on the side of a mountain with a hot guy landing between her legs. Lara bit back a smile. It lightened her mood for a moment.
***
The minute he’d laid eyes on her sitting at the table under the palm tree, he had to have her. Possess her. It made him reckless and he’d surprised himself when he’d offered her a position without proper consideration. It wasn’t something he made a habit of doing, making decisions without careful thought. But her mannerisms, hesitant yet confident, with an underlying vulnerability, intrigued him. He wanted her for his own. Boom. Just like that.

Vance watched Lara splash in the waves that rolled up to her toes. She laughed and held her tie-dyed sarong high over the foaming water. Her long curly hair, flying wildly about her face in the sea breeze, had lightened considerably over the last few weeks. Just as her skin had darkened to a golden hue that offset her green eyes.

“Lara. Pleased to meet you.” She stuck her hand over the bar and Vance took it in his. Her hand in his was warm and soft but her grip was firm. They lingered, and their eyes met. Hers opened wide and her lips parted, telling him she felt something just as he did.

She could watch him all day. He was pure beauty. Tall, tanned, muscular, with sun-streaked hair and turquoise eyes that matched the tropical waters not a stone’s throw away.
A storm changes everything…
In a sun-soaked tropical paradise, Vance is ready to trade his five star chef’s career to fulfill a dream—opening beach bum, a vibrant seaside café on the sandy shore. He’s not just serving delectable treats, he’s discovering the taste of freedom. He’s seeking a different kind of life—and a no-strings-attached romance. But what he finds is so much more…
Fresh from a broken engagement and the suffocating expectations of her old life, Lara takes a spontaneous flight south, landing in Vance’s beachside haven. The warm sun and salty air encourage her to let go of her past. Drawn by Vance’s magnetic charm, she soon discovers their relationship ignites a passion she never knew existed.
As their fiery connection deepens, Lara grapples with the thrill of surrendering to Vance. But when Troy—a mysterious figure from Vance’s past—enters their world on a stormy night, everything changes. What begins as a steamy fling evolves into a love triangle that tests boundaries and desires under the tropical sun.
